This fair trade teal and multicolored felted wool trivet with floral applique is hand made in Nepal. It is approximately 8" in diameter and is dyed in the pattern of a floral design contrasting the predominantly teal trivet. Because each one is handmade, colors and designs may vary slightly from the images, but will be very similar. This felted wool trivet is beautiful and durable, and its purchase helps artisans in Nepal earn a living wage. The floral appliques are very sturdily sewn on. Felted wool is a great insulator with a high burn point, and is durable yet non-abrasive on your counters; qualities that make it ideal for a hot pad.
About the brand: Ganesh Himal Trading is a small, family-owned wholesale business based in Spokane, Washington. It has worked with artisans in Nepal since 1984 to develop handmade, high quality clothing, jewelry, textiles, ornaments and paper for the U.S. market. Ganesh also helps support development projects for Tibetan refugees in Nepal, including co-founding the Baseri Health Clinic in Baseri, Nepal. It is a member of the Fair Trade Federation.
