Bolga baskets are handmade in farming villages in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana, and are perhaps the best known of all African baskets. They are woven from local, abundant kinkanhe grass and usually have a goat skin handle, although we have some that are leather-free. These durable baskets are the quintessential farmer's market baskets. However, they are also great for storing and toting toys, magazines, yarn, you name it! All of our Bolga baskets are fair trade products. We always have more in stock than we have time to display on the website, so if you are looking for a particular color or style, contact us and we'll see if we can find what you're looking for.
