Felted Soap

While we offer Fair Trade, artisan crafted products from around the world, we also feature local products too! One of these Pacific Northwest items we carry is our selection of felted soap. We hand cut the soap here at our shop and our wonderful store owner Tracy Zhu hand felts the sheep wool around each bar. There are twelve different soap fragrance options to choose from with our newest being Bay Rum, an energizing rum/citrus option (available beginning the first week of August). Each weighs approximately four ounces and is handcrafted by the cold process method and wrapped in sheep's wool as a built-in washcloth. When you use the felty, the soap lathers up through the felted wool, squeeze excess water from the soap and allow it to dry on a draining soap dish or rack when done. The wool will shrink as the soap dissolves with use, and when the soap is gone you can run it through a washing machine, and use it as a cleaning pad. Salish Sea Fiber Arts is our brand for the felted products we prepare in-house. The name is derived from the Salish Sea, wild and gorgeous body of water that Port Gamble is located on.
