This striking Zulu telephone wire basket combines traditional skills with modern materials. It was hand-woven from the top down from plastic coated electrical and telephone wires. Achieving the incredibly tight weave requires great hand and forearm strength, combined with the dexterity needed to produce intricate patterns. This basket is approximately 1.5" deep by 9" in diameter with rigid walls, and has a rainbow, black and copper spiral design. It is as functional as it is beautiful, and can be cleaned in warm, soapy water. If you order it you will receive the precise one seen in the image. Because it is unique, you can only order one. It is a fair trade product from South Africa.
