This handwoven Bolga storage basket is round, open at the top and has no handle or lid. It is made from elephant grass and is about 16" in diameter and about 9" deep. Use it for storing linens, toys, kindling, yarn...you name it. To clean or shape it, simply wet it with cool water, clean and shape it as needed, and allow it to air dry. Store it away from direct sunlight to keep the colors vivid.

Our fair trade Bolga baskets are made in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana in West Africa. Bolga baskets are among the best known African baskets because of their versatility and durability. They are woven from elephant grass, which grows abundantly in the area.
